Pet Portraits

I just love my Shih Tzu, Whirly Girl.  She’s the light of my life.  I got her when she was 4 and just had to do her portrait.  Then other dog lovers wanted portraits of their pets too.  That is how it all got started.  It's so much fun to paint dog portraits, I get to meet all these wonderful animals and then put their personalities on canvas.

Options - Paintings are painted on archival canvas covered wood panel or on a museum wrap, stretched cotton canvas.    Framing is the responsibility of the client.

Photos - I can take the pictures to be used for the portrait.  If you use an existing picture, it needs to be taken without a flash and preferably using natural light.   If I travel outside the Louisville  KY Metro area to take the pictures, the client pays the travel expenses.  $40 per hour plus $.20 per mile.  If air travel and hotel is involved, all expenses are paid by the client.

Timing - A minimum of 2 months - 6 months depending on complexity, (from time of order) is needed for painting.  After an order is placed and expectations are discussed, I will present a layout of the planned painting. At that time changes can be made.  After the changes are approved the painting can begin.  The next time theclient sees the painting, it will be completed.

Payment -  A down payment of 50% is required at the time of the order.  I can send an invoice through PayPal or Square Up.  The remainder is paid when the painting is complete.  All shipping charges are paid by the client.

PRICING for PRINTS  - After the oil painting has been painted a digital image can be taken to make prints from.  All the prints are high quality Giclee prints.  The CD image is $40    

CANVAS PRINTS

All the prints are high quality Giclee prints, printed on water resistant inkjet matte canvas (18 mil) with a water resistant inkjet coating, then museum wrapped around stretcher bars and ready for hanging.

PAPER PRINTS

These paper prints are printed on high quality Cannon heavyweight matte coated paper 10.6 ml.   This option would need to be framed with glass and a matte.
